Saturday

1. Consumption
Water-2 5 minute showers, 2 bottles of water, flushed the toilet and washed my hands a couple times, and brushed my teeth 3 times
Food-cereal, sandwich, pizza, english muffin
Money-$3 on pizza and $4 on a coffee
Gas-I was kind of bad wight his yesterday, I got a 5 minute ride to and from a volunteer thing and then drove to the mall and back making slot of stops
Electricity-the only electricity I used was charging my phone when I went to bed and half hr of tv before. I didn’t use any during the day

2. Reduction
I feel I cut back on electricity alot yesterday, because I wasn’t home too much. But other than that, I wasn’t able to really reduce much

3. Sustainability
Because I really didn’t do much to reduce yesterday, it won’t be to hard to sustain that. And the only reason I was able to reduce my electricity was because I didn’t need to use the computer for any homework

4. Following
I found that many people had the same problem as I did. Because it was a weekend and didn’t have school taking up most of the day, there was a lot more time to do whatever who h usually means more consumption in most aspects. I feel that if people truly are to keep this going after the challenge ends, it will most likely be only on weekdays

Friday

1. Consumption
Water- 5 min shower, 1 bottle of water, washed my hand ps and flushed the toilet a couple times and brushed my teeth twice
Food- cereal, ham&cheese sandwich, bagel, milky way, half a sub
Money-spent a total of around $25
Gas-train to and from school twice
Electricity-1/2 hour of tv, charged my iPod, and went onthe computer for half an hour

2. Reduction
Although I’m keeping the same reductions going such as a shorter shower and less time watching tv, I didn’t really make any special hanged today. Even though we’re supposed to cut back on food more today since it’s foodless Friday, I got hungry so I didn’t really work out…

3. Sustainability
Like I said, I didn’t make any special reductions for today, but almost everything else that I’ve done has been easily sustainable and I will most likely keep it going after the challenge is going

Following- it seems that slot of people weren’t too successful with no food Friday, which was extremely understandable

Thursday

1. Consumption

water-5 minute shower, brushed my teeth twice, flushed the toilet and washed my hands a couple times, drank a bottl of water

food-bacon egg and cheese, pb crakcers, sandwich, donut, meatloaf

electricity-computer for half hr, couple lights

gas-train to and from school

money-$15

2. Reduction

i tried reducing m time using technology considering that it it technology thursday. i stayed off my phone and ipod more as well as didnt watch tv at all. plus i was onlyon the computer for  about half an hour

3. Sustainability

I could easily be able to keep up wit less tv and ipod but i doubt ill cut back my phone use as much as i did today

4, Following

i found that not alot of people can find alot more ways to improve. it seems that most people had cut back on most of the categories already throughout the week and have been able to keep those habits going. so even though i doubt there will be any more drastic changes, it seems to be making a lasting impressions on the way people live their lives.

Wednesday

1. Consumption
Water-had 1 bottle of water, flushed the toilet 3 times, washed my hands 4 times, and took a 5 minute shower
Food-breakfast bar, sandwich, chips, chocolate covered pretzels, steak tips&mashed potatoes
Electricity-watched tv for half hour, used my iPod to do this, but that’s pretty much it
Gas-train to and from school, about 10 minute car ride
Money-$1.25 on coffee, $0.50 on chips

2.Reduction
Even though it’s waterless Wednesday, I didn’t try too hard to reduce my water usage because that’s what I focused on yesterday. Instead I cut back more on electricity, staying off the computer altogether and reducing my time watching tv. I did, however, reduce my time in the shower to 5 minutes

3. Sustainability
Reducing my electricity use really isn’t hard and staying off the computer more can definitely be a permanent thing unless some school work has to get done. I also know that I’d be able to cut back my time in the shower to about the 5 minutes I had today, but it’s something that I won’t really want to do too often.

4. Following
Most people seemed to be affected by the case study we did the other day most likely because it put everyones water use into perspective and showed where people could and should cut down like in the shower

Tuesday

1. Consumption

water-2 bottles of water, flushed the toilet and washed my hands a couple times, brushed my teeth twice, and took a 5 minute shower

food-breakfast bar, ham&cheese sandwich, a donut, a bagel, slice of pizza

electricity-watched tv for about an hr and used the radio of 30 mins, had 1 light on doing hw, and charged my ipod

gas-train to and from school

money-$1.50 on coffee

2. Reduction

i tried to reduce my time in the shower and was kind of glad i did after we figured out our water usage in class.

3. Sustainability

reducing my time in the shower really wasn’t too hard and after doing the activity in class, i’ll probably try to make this change permanent because i feel i use to much water in general

4. Following

i noticed alot of people are able to go the whole day without spending any money. the past few days ive been broke so had no choice but to not spend anything buti want to try this out even when i do have the money

Monday

1. Consumption

water-had 2 bottles of water, 10 min shower, brushed my teeth, flushed the toilet and washed my hands a couple times.

food- had a chewy bar, bologna sandwich, another chewy bar, a bagel, and some chicken

electricity-all I’ve really used was the tv in the morning for about 5 mins and again when i got home for like an hour. ive also been on my computer for the past hour or so and now charging my ipod

gas-dint drive anywhere, so the train to and from school was it

money-i spent $1.50 on a coffee this morning (sorry mr g, no idea how to brew my own) and money on the train because i forgot my bus pass

2. Reduction

considering its money monday, i had to try pretty hard to not spend money after school on coffee or food, but i was able to do it. I found that reducing the amount of money i spent, i was able to regulate my food intake as well considering that food is more or less the only thing i spend money on after school

3. Sustainability

The only thing i tried differently today than yesterday was the amount of money i spent. even though it would be more than ideal for me to keep this particular change in effect i would be so much better off financially, i doubt id be able to go everyday without spending money. Ive been trying to stop since last year and never really worked out.

4. Following

After following some of my classmates and seeing what they had to say after doing the same challenge, i found most of the experiences were very alike in the sense that most people were easily able to get off of facebook. i also read someones post saying how taking a bath instead of a shower would save alot more water and relate to a thrid world country more; its a good idea but most likely not going to do it.

Sunday

1. Consumption

Water-i took a much shoter shower today than usual and tried to keep it under 10 minutes. i also had a bottle of water which is good compared to the 2-3 bottles i usually have daily.

Food-I had eggs for breakfast, a sandwich for lunch, and a burger for dinner. i also had a couple small snacks throughout the day

Electricity- i charged my phone this morning and watched a movie. i was actally doing very well reducing my electricity consumption until i had to go on tumblr

Gas-The only gas i used was getting a ride from a friends house back to southie which was only a 10 minute drive

Money-i only spent $3 on a coffee this morning

2. Reduction

Considering it was social networking sunday, i didnt go onto facebook or the interweb at all which also extremely hlepd my reduction of electricity. I also brought out no money with me today so that i wouldnt be tempted to spend an ample amount of it on food

3. Sustainability

Going without facebook or the interweb really isnt too hard. although i won’t permanently give it up because it is how a great deal of communication is done in the modern world, reducing my time on it should be an extremely easy task
